Diane Arvanites & Tommy Neblett

As co-Artistic Directors of Prometheus Dance Inc., Diane Arvanites & Tommy Neblett create powerful and provocative dance/theatre which has been performed throughout the northeastern United States; Spain, France, Denmark, Mexico, Venezuela, and Ecuador. They have co-created over fifty works for their company, as well as forming The Elders Ensemble, a second company of post-professional dancers ages 60-85. Prometheus Dance has been produced and/or commissioned by Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, Joyce Soho, Boston Celebrity Series, Dance Umbrella, Crash Arts, First Night, Festival of Arts & Ideas and OperaBoston, among others. Together, and individually, have have choreographed for the dance programs at The Boston Conservatory, Emerson College, Walnut Hill School, Boston Ballet Summer Program and Harvard University.

Ms. Arvanites & Mr. Neblett have received numerous awards and recognition for their work, including a Creativity Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, and four Artists Grants for Choreography from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

As educators, Ms. Arvanites & Mr. Neblett are full-time faculty members of the Walnut Hill School and The Boston Conservatory where they teach modern dance technique, partnering and choreography. They also teach open-enrollment classes for both professionals (advanced company class) and post-professionals (Dance for 55+) at The Dance Complex in Cambridge where Prometheus Dance is in residence.
